Milestone is proud to announce the addition of Alex Hancock to its Leadership Development Program.

Alex Hancock is a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, where he focused on real estate and corporate finance. While at Kenan-Flagler he spent his summer internship at MetLife Investment Management where he worked in the Real Estate Risk, Research & Analytics group, where he assisted with portfolio management and corporate strategy functions within MetLife’s $94.2B Commercial Real Estate portfolio. Prior to business school, Mr. Hancock lived in Atlanta where he worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at Hospitality Ventures Management Group, an owner/operator of hotels with a nationwide portfolio consisting of full-service, extended-stay and select-service property types.

There, he helped evaluate investment opportunities in the U.S. lodging sector consistent with client-specific and general firm investment criteria through analyzing financial statements and market dynamics. He also developed pro-forma analyses, sensitivity analyses and gained strong experience in structuring JV agreements and waterfalls. Earlier, he worked at Raymond James Bank as a Corporate Credit Analyst with responsibility for underwriting commitments to the corporate credit facilities of both publicly-traded and private REITs across various asset classes. While at Milestone, he hopes to gain further transaction experience across a wide array of product types, which he hopes to utilize towards achieving his long-term goal of being an opportunistic fund manager.

Mr. Hancock was born and raised in Tampa, FL and earned his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University, where he majored in Finance and earned a minor in History. In his free time, he enjoys golf, tennis, weightlifting, traveling (he has visited 44 of the 50 U.S. states and 20 countries), reading (preferably a book with a historical bent), and skiing.

Milestone CEO William Wells commented, “We are very pleased to add Alex to the Leadership Development Program. Alex comes to us with significant experience and a strong skill set. We are excited to be a part of what we are certain will be an outstanding career in real estate.”
